tennessee!

I'm writing this post from the Drury Inn hotel in Nashville, where I've been since last night (Nashville, not the hotel) chilling with my family from Ohio. Today was filled with boat-riding, mall shopping, and outrageously nasty weather. Isn't it supposed to be SPRING? Yeah. That's what I thought.

On the plus side, I've gotten to spend a lot of time with my cousins, Jared and Jonah. Jojo in particular adores me- he's six, way too hyper for his own good, and is absolutely adorable. Observe:

So yes. A good vacation so far. It'll be sad to leave the family tomorrow, but I'm also ready to be back home out of sheer exhaustion! So yeah. Good times in Tennessee, and I'll see all you Georgia folks again soon.

Love from TN.

Too much going on. Must... blog...

And no, no matter what you may be thinking, this blog is not a thinly disguised excuse to procrastinate my homework still further. This is a legit and necessary function of my life. I think that without ranting to the internet, my life would become unbearably dull and I might die.

Things which are going on right now:
  • Spring break starts TOMORROW. I am excited.
  • I have a ten-paragraph essay test due tomorrow, a math test, and tons of other homework.
  • I'm about four paragraphs into that essay test and I've worked on it for almost two hours.
  • Jakeandamir.com ISN'T HELPING IN THE ESSAY WRITING PROCESS.
  • My back is killing me. I can't get comfortable in any chair or lying down or standing up position. No, guys, I'm not dancing. I'm just trying to stop hurting. x_x
  • My mom is making burgers for dinner. Again. I feel like such a fatty.
  • I got the cutest new shoes today.
  • I'm officially changing my name to Caro. Caroline sounds too much like an old lady.
  • I have to make Stephen's super-secret-and-awesome birthday present tonight.
I'd better start working on some of this stuff.

... Or maybe I'll go have dinner.

Anyone wanna play a game over Facebook?

of doctors and drabness

I spent the whole morning at the pediatrician and, quite honestly, I am unimpressed with what I got out of it:

On the "plus" side, my hand/wrist pain is probably only carpal tunnel (ha. 'only' carpal tunnel) but this means that, at the moment, I don't have to worry about it. And by "don't have to worry", I mean "it's not going to kill me". Of course, this doesn't solve the problem that my hands and wrists randomly hurt for not reason at all, but not knowing what's wrong means that insurance costs less so that makes my mom happy.

Thanks, doc, for not solving the problem I visited you for. I appreciate that. A lot.

He also decided to tell my mother that I'm anemic. THANKS. She's going to be forcing me to eat red meat for the next 100000000 weeks. I mean, I love me a good steak every now and then, but I get the feeling she's going to go all over-the-top and nag me to take my iron supplements and all that good stuff. Ironically, (ha! ironically, get it?) I got more iron from my diet while I was a vegetarian than I do now.

I told my mom not to come into the office with me when she asked me if I wanted her to, and she did it anyway. Stupid.

I got a shot. I'm not phobic of needles or whatever, but still. It's stupid. AND they took blood out of my finger. Which is gross and annoying.

AND I had to pee in a cup.

I hate doctors, guys. A lot.

At least I got two circus bandaids and a Cinderella sticker.

Don't you think it's time I stop seeing an old, male pediatrician? Yeah. That's what I said, too. x_x

an equation!

  • One travel cage +
  • One large rodent exercise ball +
  • Enough chopped carrots, strawberries, bananas, and celery for four +
  • Eight yoghurt drops +
  • Four vitamin packed nutra-nibbles +
  • Two cardboard tubes +
  • One day's worth of rat food +
  • One freshly filled water bottle +
  • One noisy, brightly coloured wood block toy +
  • Two very spoilt little rats +
  • One slightly sad rat mummy =
Prudence and Lucy's sleepover at Auntie Katie's (bahaha) house!

The girls are all packed and ready to go, and I suppose I'm being a little bit... er... persnickety about their care. Ah well, I suppose one can never be too careful, right? I don't know how I'm going to get to sleep without them loudly slurping their water or climbing up the sides of their cage tonight... but I suppose I'll manage. You'd think they were going away for a week rather than just a night the way I'm carrying on, haha.

What can I say? I love me some ratty white noise to get me to sleep.

Ah well, it's for a good cause. And I'm glad they'll get both mental and physical exercise, seeing as they haven't been getting terribly much considering my recent bout with the flu and all. (:

That's all for now!
-Caroline

P. S.- One plus side of this is that it's now about 50000 times easier to clean their big cage while they're gone!

cutest thing. ever.

Seriously... I think 'nuff said on this one.

Sorry for the poor image quality, and the cage bars in the way. Every time I open the cage to try and take a picture of them all snuggled up, they run to the door and whereas it's adorable it sort of ruins the picture. As for the quality itself... Um yeah. No excuse, I just messed up. Haha.

crazy, crazy wednesday

Yearbook is FINALLY over! To celebrate, we went to Cici's for lunch/partying/yeah. And we had a very much good time, I must say. :D

I got kisses bahaha.

I played the Claw.

I won stuff.

All in all, a very productive day and a lot of fun with friends. :D

Music?

Alright, everyone knows that I'm in love with the Beatles. I mean, just look at my room:

Unfortunately, there are MANY other decent artists out there... most of whom I probably haven't even heard of. I'm getting a bit tired of fighting Pandora to find stuff that's both new to me and tolerable... so I've decided to appeal to the people.

I'm pretty sure my taste is fairly versatile- I like everything from the Cranberries to Pink to the Beatles to Regina Spektor and many things in between. But I feel like there's probably something I'm missing out on... If you think so, just let me know, ok? I'm always up for new music.

In return, I'd like to ask the question: have you ever heard of Wolfmother?

No? Here, click this. If you have any taste in music at all, you'll enjoy it. Trust me. No. Really. Click the link.

Current fave. :D

Until next time,
Caroline
